About

Jess Olsen likes to describe her work as 'doing watercolors wrong', employing bold bright colors and high contrast in a medium that's more known for dreamy washes and layers of transparency. She is largely self taught, with a brief background in animation and graphic design.

Most of her pieces are inspired by the landscapes of British Columbia- predominately the Bulkley Valley, where she was born, and the Okanagan Valley, where she's lived for over a decade. Her works, however, have traveled much further into private collections as far away as Australia and Burundi.
