Jess Olsen

Jess has been painting since 2015, after making the switch from digital animation to a traditional medium. She describes her landscapes as less an attempt at capturing a snapshot, and more the movement of time as a place is observed, favoring bright saturated colors and bold graphic white linework that tends to be less typical for Watercolorists.

Much of her work is Plein Air, and inspiration is drawn from the landscapes of British Columbia, ranging from her childhood in the Bulkley Valley, to her current home in West Kelowna, to the beaches of Vancouver Island. Similarly, her original work is contained in private collections worldwide.

Jess is currently painting in the unceded territory of the Sylix (Okanagan) Nation.
